On this day in history.......

On February 2, 2003, a very special little girl came into our family's life. She was a perfect child, just right for the mission she was sent to this earth to fulfill. You see, she was only going to spend a short time with us before she moved on to another family, complete with a mom and dad, who had been waiting for a very long time for her. Although she only got to spend a short amount of time with us, her impact is that of a lifetime. During those few days, we put a lifetime of love into this little soul and soaked up the wonder of her. She is now with her mom and dad and I am sure she is their most cherished posession - after all, she was one of ours.

Today is a wonderful yet a very tough day as we think back to the feelings we had 7 years ago. It is my wish that all children in this world are in a place where they can feel the love of all of the adults around them.

Great parents make tough decisions every day. I honor my daughter who made one of the toughest decisions of her life when she brought this precious soul into the world and then placed her in the hands of wonderful, loving parents.

My Child, Their Child
This is my child
Yes she is not mine
My flesh and blood, but their sweat and tears
She carries my genes, yet will be shapred by their personalities
She lives strong in my heart, but her heart feels for them
She lives in my fantasies, my dreams
Yet she's their dream come true, their beautiful and precious reality
I gave her life, with which she made theirs whole
I learned so much to love her, that I let her go
My child, their child - it doesn't make sense
Yet at the same time
My child, my dream for her to have better than I could give
Their child, their dream, to give her better than I could give
My child, so painful, the hurt caused by her leaving, so much grieving
Yet a world full of happiness in their receiving
